Important Info

The following are two case studies and a handful of rave reviews from clients I have worked with.  Their names have not been included to protect their privacy.

Also, these results are all unique to the individual.  I can not make any guarantees as to what results you will experience.  You are unique and have a different medical health history, genes, preferences, beliefs, and baggage from decades that may need to be unpacked than anyone else.  You will get lots of results when working with me.   That I know for sure!

 

Case Study 1

Type 2 Diabetes  •  Overweight

Client was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and had a HbA1c of 6.5%.  She lost some weight on her own but her HbA1C only dropped a little to 6.3%. She was surprised as she expected it to drop more. 

She then started working with me and over several months lost 55 more pounds  and her HbA1C dropped all the way to 5.9% and she was able to go off her diabetes medication.  She lost in total over 100 pounds. Her knees no longer ached going up and down steps.  All of her physical activity got easier.  

 

She now loves whole foods.  She learned how to put together meals based on whole foods so they were delicious, filling and didn't take a lot of time.  She reads labels to decide if a food item is worth eating.  She uses smaller plates and bowls than she did before.  She fills up during the day on whole foods naturally high in fiber.  She plans ahead so she always has healthy food available.  That way when she gets hungry, she has options ready that will support her health goal.   

These new habits did not happen overnight.  They took a lot of trial and error to figure out what worked for her.  The same things will not work for you.  You need to find out what habits fit in your lifestyle to achieve your health goals.  There are many different ways to achieve great health.  The key is to find out your own customized lifestyle that supports your health goals.

Case Study 2

Overweight 

Client came to me to lose weight and prevent going on diabetes medications.  Her doctor had warned her she was going to have to go on medications shortly if she didn't lose 20 pounds or more.  

She had tried many things before and some had worked for a little while but none had worked long-term.  She felt guilty for having to ask for help.  I shared how weight loss is difficult and gets even more difficult as you age due to body changes.  What might have worked in the past will not necessarily work as you get older.  

Over several months she found activity she enjoyed doing.  She become aware of food she was eating and swapped out several products for healthier versions.  She also started cooking more meals at home and found several recipes she enjoyed and the rest of the family liked too. 

A big area of change for her was sleep.  The last ten years her sleep had deteriorated and she couldn't recall the last time she had slept through the night.   She found taking a slow release melatonin at night helped her stay asleep along with a regular sleep schedule.  This took some time to figure out and make stick.  Once her sleep improved she found regular activity was easier to stick with and she had more energy.  

 

She lost 35 pounds and 8 inches in her waist.  A bonus was the change in her thoughts around food.  She still enjoys eating but is no longer craving the sweets like she used to.  She walks past them in the grocery store without feeling a pull to them or even that she is missing out.  She also rarely feels guilt about food that she eats or food she passes on.  

 

Keep in mind that these results are unique to her.  It takes time to change your mindset and beliefs around food and your weight.  What will work for you will be different.  It will take some trial and error to figure out.

Rave Reviews

Thank you for all you have taught me!  It works!  My blood pressure dropped by 5 points and I am down 8 pounds in just over a month.  You broke down the steps for me so I understood what I needed to do.  

I learned if it is convenient, I will eat it more often.  The rearranging the refrigerator really helped.  I now go for veggies first and meat second.  Who would have thought small changes could make such a difference.  I have lost 20 pounds so far and I have much more energy.

A Note About Results

Keep in mind that results will vary for each person.  Weight loss and changing habits for better health is hard.  It doesn't happen overnight.  If someone promises that, be aware.  We are each unique and what is going to work for you will be different than what works for others. 

Also, you will find results beyond losing weight, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, and stabilizing hormones, etc.  Along the way you will learn to have compassion for yourself, release any guilt you have had around food, be able to pass on foods without feeling like you are missing out, and savor foods irregardless of their calorie count.  These results  help you stick to your habits longterm and make eating an enjoyable part of your life while supporting your goal of optimal health.
